Google Ads vs. LSA

Google Ads vs. Local Services Ads for HVAC companies.

Both put you at the top of Google. They work very differently — and for most companies the answer is to run both, with clear roles.

Which works better for HVAC companies?

HVAC is one of the core Local Services Ads categories, and for many searches LSA listings appear above every other ad. Job types (repair, install, maintenance) and service areas can be chosen, and leads that clearly fall outside them can be disputed.

Search ads are better when you want specific work — replacement and install, for example — and want to send people to a page that sells that service. LSA is better for convenient, pay-per-lead volume, especially if you have strong reviews.

How to run both

  • Let LSA cover the core categories where your reviews are strongest
  • Use Search campaigns for higher-value services and specific areas
  • Track both separately so you can compare cost per booked job
  • Review LSA leads weekly and dispute the ones that qualify
